Hello everyone,

During the installation process, after the installer downloads
sqlite-autoconf-3260000.tar.gz and pass the 'configure' phase, the installation
freezes in the 'build' phase.

The screen looks like:

| building

I've tried it several times with the same result, everytime.

Any hint?

Could you clarify which installation procedure you followed for Guix
(Guix on a foreign distro? Using the binary install or building from
source or…?)?

Also, did you enable substitutes?  See

Yes, I'm using the binary install standalone Guix System on an i686 machine.
I thought it can be installed on its own.

I _DON'T_ want Guix installed on a foreign distribution, all I want is a
completely free OS, including the Linux-libre kernel.

As read from the official docs:

4.3.1 Official Substitute Server

'Substitutes from the official build farm are enabled by default when using
Guix System.'


Do you have any plans to end the 32-bit x86 support in Guix System?
