I wonder if =E2=80=9Cburnt to a DVD=E2=80=9D might be the cause here.  Coul=
d you try
the installation with a USB drive?

Maybe there is something wrong with the image that makes it fail in odd
ways when burning it to DVD.  Or maybe there=E2=80=99s something wrong with=
 the
DVD or the drive=E2=80=A6?

Unfortunately, I cannot test this myself as I have no DVD drive.
