Hi,
I am new to guixsd and i got to install the os to a physical hard disk.
wpa_supplicant mentions it started successfully during boot. But dhclient
does not seem to be connecting to the wireless n/w. Also every time, i kill
the process wpa_supplicant, it restarts immediately. Any help is
appreciated.

Thanks
Vikram.

I got bitten by that too: It's probably because network-manager is running.

Check the output of

	# herd status

"networking" and "wpa-supplicant" should be there.
You can use "nmcli" or "nmtui" to manage your connections.

Thanks Pierre. It really saved the day.

This prompts me to bring this older thread back:

	https://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/help-guix/2018-05/msg00075.html

We've discussed whether we should be more explicit about how network management
was done on GuixSD.
I argued that we should highlight that nmcli / nmtui can be used by default.
Some counter arguments were that network-manager is not necessarily what the
user will install.

But it's the default nonetheless and if the users go by the vanilla
%desktop-services, that's what they will get. I think Vikram's message is
another case in point: we should be more explicit about something so crucial.

I would definitely vote for it. If we have to reach newbies, we need to
give them the most common item - WiFi. Also would be great if there were a
newbie document.
