guix upgrade: error : integer expected from stream

Yo Guixters !

Today I faced an issue when I tried to upgrade my packages. The process 
exited with the following message :

    guix upgrade: erreur : integer expected from stream

Don't know what to do… Any clue ?

Can you upgrade the running daemon despite this error?

You seem to be missing this commit[0] whose only value as a 
debugging tool is pointing out when someone is running an old 
daemon lacking the fix[1]… ;-)

Hey Tobias !

You're right, I had to upgrade the daemon (and restart my system!). Then 
I had to remove a package which does not want to compile haha.

All good now. Thank you for your help and work on the fix ! ;)

Since we are seeing this error more than often these days, maybe a news
entry would be.  WDYT?

I was thinking the same thing, but I wasn't sure whether this was 
the intended use of the ‘news’ file…
