emacs-xwidgets not working (gdk-pixbuf-error-quark) also no icons

Any help to fix this issue is gretly appreciated.

So I have never managed to get icons to work in my guix system. Not even with a basic reconfigure with desktop.tmpl and I think now that this is because I have broken my system somehow.

Now I have detected that I can't launch emacs-xwidgets it throws the following error:

Note I have run it in container to make sure my system or profile configuration is not messing with it, but I get the same error running in it on my profile. Installing it on system gave same results.

This invocation,

    guix shell emacs-xwidgets gtk+ \
         -CN -E TERM -E DISPLAY          \
         -- emacs

works for me.

Thanks Simon.
Seems that adding gtk+ to guix shell invocation did the trick that also fixed the problem of running it on system which is weird as gtk+ is an input of the package. I will try to do a guix GC an see what happens.

So after doing guix gc and rebooting everything works.
I can run emacs-xwidgets and I have my icons back.

Really strange.

I would really love to know what was wrong with my system as I didn't
even reinstall gtk+ on it, just on a shell container.

Probably messed up some environment variables and the reboot cleaned all
up.  Well, it is hard to know exactly what. :-)
