I understand tha= t this is likely never to be an offically supported architecture, but I'd l= ike to learn the process for freedom and knowledge sake. I have a few Intel= -based computers that could aid me in this process. Could someone knowledge= able in such things point me in the right direction? I personally have two G4 laptops and would love to have Guix as an almost-supported architecture too. The standard way to add a new architecture to Guix is to cross build boostrap binaries for it=C2=B9=C2=B2 and to shove a reference to them into = (gnu packages commencement) in the guix sources. I have a non-working copy here=C2=B3 that I play with occasionally. What are the specs of your laptop? I maxed out my ram to 1.5GB, which is under the recommended minimum of 2GB, but found it close enough for most tasks with Guix. I suggest popping over to guix-devel also to talk about bootstrapping, there are some people working on bootstrapping 64-bit PPC who would also probably be able to help. =C2=B9 http://guix.gnu.org/manual/devel/en/html_node/Porting.html#Porting =C2=B2 http://guix.gnu.org/manual/devel/en/html_node/Preparing-to-Use-the-B= ootstrap-Binaries.html#Building-the-Bootstrap-Binaries =C2=B3https://github.com/Millak/guix/tree/flashner/wip-powerpc=20 --=20 Efraim Flashner =D7=90=D7=A4=D7=A8=D7=99=D7=9D = =D7=A4=D7=9C=D7=A9=D7=A0=D7=A8 GPG key =3D A28B F40C 3E55 1372 662D 14F7 41AA E7DC CA3D 8351 Confidentiality cannot be guaranteed on emails sent or received unencrypted --bi5JUZtvcfApsciF Content-Type: application/pgp-signature; name="signature.asc" -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- iQIzBAABCgAdFiEEoov0DD5VE3JmLRT3Qarn3Mo9g1EFAl4/sqoACgkQQarn3Mo9 g1FYiw//a0rNQ3U39V2GbJ3DBC+rrtwBuDRUkLBbMQv9pCZBGpfNEPX/DYKMC2tA J4wFQbR3bAZA01UpGNzrbGYuISUETcCLofslKJijQWOPj+GBGn4ACtEpFADjYNfP PcsUGgCHk0mls9m1n4oiHQUSwTtK1ws53uLC/Z3tPLQmwt5oxvOB3d4ezJQbccFc qkBk5JhRwWuMsqwGzaBniGNTGc0DIPDMD99kSV3iT7cIGTerK20DRE3GcGTd9H0E FUhqx+AvMTXVyv0c2q7lAsJoGlgHdQ18AsAH99CM7JfO9x0w/kgDC6NnMutdrcC8 Q+tTLsEpUFoAdhpDyiT75YImtcx3cS2TU4a9r3ZOFFJHGtbabgs49kzDmqopa9rq imB5ykm2uG4u2T5ig8j++yjbgs2qhIAanrXiNedt9oeTtnLEYeTsk/9gQSnKGECt JoOfORz0Coo5cdtM5C9teickbKOvqFMuAZ5f9VnLtjiwy5nrXcMkhJgvIeSPBZlq ck9NwxMpKgoUQCILfAzX2fO/BYNy3NtnpqXFnV+1KYnwEgup/wzTaglcASl1AaVq VkNtuxO8kB3P8CX9BzPNADoKzksc0/I/PfLEMof7NKNaI/Hq7ltQzh5uv4ZYACbz 1Ab2mDeJjAyCDUC7fs8+4X5xg84zC9op9hzPW3B0actmKxdlKU0= =yX6S -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- --bi5JUZtvcfApsciF--
