I'm sure your work will be appreciated. Please, make sure to read the
section of the manual about contributions[1] and don't be afraid to
ask.

The translations currently are made through translationproject.org[2],
so you should check with the Italian team[3]. From my experience with
the Spanish team, you will find plenty of helpful people there too.
Still, there have been some debate about improving the translation
project[4] using weblate. I'm not sure what is the current status of
this though.
Happy hacking!
Miguel

Hi Alessandro,
Thanks for reaching out! The translation process currently takes place on https://translationproject.org. Please read this page to learn more about the process: https://translationproject.org/html/translators.html. You don't need to fill a disclaimer for guix. It might be necessary for other projects.
When editing po files (the format used for translations), you might want to use Emacs' po mode, poedit or offlate. They are all packaged in guix. You'll see we have three different projects: guix (please prioritize it), guix-packages and guix-manual. You should consider helping all of them :). Don't hesitate to ask if you have more questions!

Seconded!
There are several things up for translation:
1. Messages printed by the commands:
2. Package descriptions:
3. The manual:
4. The Cookbook, which can be seen at
<https://guix.gnu.org/cookbook/en/>, but I think it’s not on the
Translation Project (yet?). Julien and Florian should know more.
Looking forward to Italian translations! :-)
Ludo’.
