Hi,

Let meet online the Monday, September 27th at 9:00 CET. Feel free to
share with your colleagues. It is open to everyone interested in
providing Guix to scientific users. Note that the first item does not
require any technical skill. :-)

The agenda will be:

  - Online events as training / season school / workshop

  - Better coverage with long-term archive using Software Heritage and
with Disarchive

  - Good micro-architecture story with function multi-versioning along
the lines of
<https://gitlab.inria.fr/guix-hpc/function-multi-versioning> (help
welcome especially on finding good applications to benchmark!)

  - Relocatable pack execution on clusters that lack user namespaces,
thus with GUIX EXECUTION_ENGINE=fakechroot (I noticed glitches in the
past due to glibc NSS and things like that)

  - “Converting” papers to use a Guix workflow similar to what I did in
<https://zenodo.org/record/3886739>, with the goal of extracting common
helpers to make it more approachable

  - Bazel (tensorflow) and other machine learning framework

  - Program using GPU

  - Julia packaging and importer

  - SWH-based BibTeX citation with an extra Guix field

  - Add your item!

The aim of this meeting is to plan how to make concrete or plan how to
implement some ideas discussed at the last workshop on reproducible
software environments [1].

Hi Simon,

I can attend the online meeting on Monday 27th September.

> - Add your item!

 - FEniCSX and Firedrake; run the tutorial cases using guix-jupyter.

The tutorial cases [0,1] are small finite element problems that can be
run on modest computer systems. FEniCSX and Firedrake need to be
packaged for Guix as the first step. There are approximately twenty
dependencies to be added too.

Best regards,

Paul.
