Next steps
-----------
The ones I've cherry-picked are all from the 'start' of the branch.
I'm still rebuilding the python-attrs & python-rich dependents.
For now, it doesn't look like these are making things worse.

I will create another small branch 'stacked' on top of this one, to continue testing.
