Hello,

this is the updated version of the patch with changes suggested by
Mathieu Othacehe and Julien Lepiller.

A note for Mathieu: I used to build libtree with "-static" flag as it is
recommended by the official documentation.  But libtree builds fine
without the flag so I removed it.
