I guess having access to recover from issues is the primary concern, and reliability relates to that. Around FOSDEM, I think I caused Bayfront to restart while attempting to restart cuirass. I'm not sure exactly what happened, as my SSH connection just dropped, and the machine became inaccessible (including Cuirass, hpc.guix.info, ...). Luckily, some time later Ludovic and Andreas were available to remotely access the power supply, and turn the machine off and on, this did seem to bring the machine back. > I would not mind hosting services on one of the 30 new servers the MDC > bought for ci.guix.gnu.org, but I=E2=80=99d be happier if we figured out = what=E2=80=99s > wrong with bayfront instead of centralizing all services in Berlin=E2=80= =A6 I'm definitely not saying anything is wrong with Bayfront, just that it would be good to maybe check what the expectations are with the services it hosts. Given that the remote access only allows power cycling the machine, if that doesn't work, there's the potential for downtime for those services to last until someone physically goes to the machine to fix it, if SSH access can't be restored by turning it off and on again. --=-=-= Content-Type: application/pgp-signature; name="signature.asc" -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- iQKTBAEBCgB9FiEEPonu50WOcg2XVOCyXiijOwuE9XcFAl5LBXJfFIAAAAAALgAo aXNzdWVyLWZwckBub3RhdGlvbnMub3BlbnBncC5maWZ0aGhvcnNlbWFuLm5ldDNF ODlFRUU3NDU4RTcyMEQ5NzU0RTBCMjVFMjhBMzNCMEI4NEY1NzcACgkQXiijOwuE 9XfnZg/7BdxTrPzL8WxODogptVW7tNZdhaKGOkjA9mrlAuXd393Vnd/5MH/4AdFX WQl3JytiLP3CvQHPIe5k/4Z66PhZtr53xrOCKUDLHiuA/+mIURMWrMBzGJyX0NA2 YEEj+b+2PLd7dkhhjyUIPJl+S0dr6YiLeWxYLEB2fKFhJLymtF4upaE1FYNxvdwB mHrA/wK4g3ROKjDiPtvYHrwshqkv+sRrdEFOiNB3Mse2W8tGodpQ/UX9C6ljegHZ HgwrabnqSijEAv0G+NoOiTJTdl/NyoIeSllp9dr1nU5kzMM81bzDUi/O/gRCdaiM l2r6Bv+Eep34A/4FVhGyx+5aAjz4SEPyhx8QC4T6DC1u8xDmwgr4KWG7hdzfbNIb rgoppYnZr/O4asjrEoFdCFqMiKD6lN/iSIw4rtyL5F4eXnV4AgPrjTGOhzw6bqJC 4zZHoAADdsOC++mteWCnVlbalr1uYy32lWzLB/pXOokcbRwvFj3/H7aiD/kOyTx1 AreaiV4ANeN0kLi4IjjXH7vrJ6MSVLwYZAANW0GSzDyTEhAHrTD7ZtJ/XfHQHKdY Ci3Q6/7l2+tSNvo2v2VAAxdPKyB1+aioeRI64P6mE2K4MJSKRe1ls6e7fOJ2jkFH Sn9a+opOG/+MxzGovPKaWDSyXZ4RJ3Yd4WazD4RWjsrsfZ2Ul7s= =KgiY -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- --=-=-=--
