Shouldn’t it be “password-store”, which is the name of the tarball?

Could you expound the comment a bit? Maybe “install bash completion”?

Could it be that $HOME points to an nonexistent directory, which
confuses gpg? Could you try something like:
(setenv "HOME" (getcwd))
?
