Right now, command-line tools parse package specs by calling =E2=80=98specification->package+output=E2=80=99. There are no restrictions= on version fields: =E2=80=9C8b56efa9387262514daf63151d41c9e111e79567=E2=80=9D and =E2= =80=9Clatest=E2=80=9D are perfectly valid version fields. Thus, if the syntax above was implemented, we=E2=80=99d introduce ambiguity. Consequently, rather than overload =E2=80=9C@=E2=80=9D, I believe another s= yntax would need to be found.
