The installation image=E2=80=99s root is mounted by label. So if you happe= n to have a different partition with the label =E2=80=98gnu-disk-image=E2=80=99,= then it may end up mounting the wrong partition. That=E2=80=99s what=E2=80=99s happeni= ng here, right? If so, the solution would be to change the label of your own partition to avoid the name clash. Ideally we would mount by UUID but I think that was impractical when I looked at it. Ludo=E2=80=99.
