Walter Bright skribis: > The D programming language compiler has been called dmd since about > 2000 or so. In order to avoid confusion, may I request that the Gnu > dmd ("Daemons-managing Daemon") change its acronym? For the record, GNU=E2=80=99s dmd has been around since ~2003=C2=B9. Changing names is obviously an annoyance, technically and otherwise. We=E2=80=99re not opposed to the idea, but that would take a bit more discu= ssion among developers. BTW, it is unfortunate that Digital Mars=E2=80=99 compiler back-end denies= =C2=B2 its users essential freedoms to help each other (through redistribution), to adjust the code as they see fit, and to gain collective control of it and improve it. I hope you will reconsider this choice and choose a free software license. Thanks, Ludo=E2=80=99. =C2=B9 (I added this section recently.) =C2=B2 As per . --=-=-= Content-Type: application/pgp-signature; name="signature.asc" -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v2 iQIcBAEBCAAGBQJVCGOfAAoJEAkLEZk9muu1yW4QAIsZN+qS1mMc6U7AnuphG3eO PMI+cT7GNB/xV9ayzULtSZ3wYjtNfpXFGHVWR4aSlji+YZUG5yGFyfYVUtnVQA+t YD4hDxstY7+xW5z9U9CsxRX/WWdbsG135b7hb20qBUthO87mnPrpq6sI5iZooPLu NGL9k328F44YgxduT+W/qMJ7mJMWQP/o7c0IzHsyx6qghLVZHlG4l7bgTjYg4jTH aBesyD+La5LC3cQgAhayRsglziukD5QNWODDfmD2stbLMrNILDhmLmebVP0F2hpj YGrEOZTsWvV3otGExPcd9u5b8L+Q7AByUKRNLgnmTpIqYP0GeJgFqyoHyyhSMdy9 tRuTvJHXUYSKqRvoxGLrREWJwQTTwCU6Ze8y1xbDuTL5esDfkN1zL+QlvH7B0o7l l/cYeGwgrX59swqm255Yc4soMOUdqvDLFe4gSb0hAYTgFWpG8wmtLpFfzFW7r7Lh 3DW/hmqF4aZQIe1CLMB+M/I1IGLnvhrqwD9SRvU7LgRCR+MlcHbrrDeJriVIt8Xk wrQPl6PkaxzOLfk6wROOWJ9vCB9mDZhROsEqibyWtoBlx3cLqpktXsde3mRE6S7n oXlc+yUou8kWpxlFQmUMbKzDy6LNJfdiDx17sPkJn7wIl9bH8oCpttoKUscJu/sk 7imfsEBbdeyETC3iSXbr =3oS3 -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- --=-=-=--
