Hi,
Does the rationale for having a separate inkscape/stable [1] still hold?
On my system, the only noticable result is that inkscape is rebuilt
twice every time I update. Thanks!

Yes. dblatex still depends on inkscape, and thousands of packages
directly or indirectly depend on dblatex. We use inkscape/stable as a
native input only. This allows us to update inkscape when necessary
without fear of triggering thousands of rebuilds.
