Python 2 is no longer supported, but the Tauthon project [1] is continuing = support and backporting features from Python 3. We should consider packagin= g Tauthon in Guix and updating packages to depend on it. The Python project= has promised there will never be a Python 2.8 release [2] but considering = the huge body of extant Python 2 code, if we can get consensus within Guix = I think there would be value in continuing to support python2 packages via = Tauthon.
