Last translation round on Monday?

Saluton brave translators!

To account for the latest changes to the manual and to the code (notably
<https://issues.guix.info/issue/35456> :-)), I think we should do a last
translation round via the Translation Project on Monday.

Julien, WDYT?  Could you take care of it?  We can synchronize on IRC.

saluton!

unfortunately I won't be available sunday and monday, so I can only
take care of it on tuesday. Ludo, can you do it instead? For the last
two times I only had to: change the version in config.ac, configure and
"make dist". Then I posted the tarball on my website and the link to
Benno.

I am not familiar with TP tarball submissions, but for me the output

$ msgfmt --statistics guix-1.0.0-pre3/po/doc/guix-manual.pot 
0 übersetzte Meldungen, 6801 unübersetzte Meldungen.

appears to be dubious.  Shouldn’t the tarball contain an up-to-date
POT file?

What's wrong with that? the POT file is not suppose to have any
completed translations in it.

It has only 6801 messages, but the 1.0.0-pre2 has 7944 messages.
Also, 1.0.0-pre3 references GuixSD instead of Guix System.  It is an
old version.

Whoops, there's something wrong with the way we generate these
tarballs. I updated my version in place, so it should be fine now.

Thank you.  It is fine now.  I will translate in the morning.  Shall

probably consider temporarily bypassing the TP for this last update.

I've already uploaded the last version of both application and manual.
At the end I got 80%+ of the manual, but it needs a whole lot of work
yet, so I guess the translation will be finished in a couple of weeks
tops.

BTW, we found a typo (Texinfo syntax error) in ‘guix-manual.es.po’ that
I fixed in a3b32d57d6677fded92dbd3f4ecafbf9aceeb855.

I've fixed it with other two I've found, it was a bad move on my side
not generating the info file before uploading it, even more being in
the rush of a release.

The file has been uploaded to TP again (after checking info+pdf
generation), sorry for the trouble.

Hi Florian,

I've downloaded that tarball, and generated guix-manual.pot manually
with make doc-pot-update from 05344275517e12ea60039272b5d8936d18fd4338
and I get the same file[1] and I get 7985 messages[2].  I did not check
the other one, but I can see guix install/remove/search documentation
too, so I have started updating the translation.

[1] Diff from generated content, even though git HEAD does not have the
latest content. It's a problem with generated files in VCS, but I've
already created a bug with my last patch trying to remove
generated files from git. :-(
