I think we should do the former. Something that works out of the box would
be nice for the casual user. Also, after building, one cannot modify the
configuration files of wildmidi or timidity. So we would need the soundfont
first, use it as an input to the midi synthesiser and put an absolute path
into the configuration file. If you are not in a hurry, I could package
freepats over the weekend.
