This case sounds trickier to me, because you may be asking them to say something they don't believe. I suspect that most of the world believes there is only male and female, and that it's fixed at birth. A simple correction or educational link is probably not going to be enough to convince many of them otherwise. If someone's insistence on the wrong pronoun is not accompanied by other harassing behavior then I hope there's another way to get along. -- Alex Griffin
