Hi!
First of all: Nice job!
Let's see if I can help a bit with this, at least trying to report bugs.
First thing I've found is that executing:
guix-package -A
does not end (I haven't wait for a long time).
While
guix-package --list-available
works fine.

Yes, you hit an unfortunate bug in Guile’s SRFI-37 option parser:
http://debbugs.gnu.org/cgi/bugreport.cgi?bug=13176
But you already found the workaround. ;-)
