If you run ‘guix pull’  as root, it updates ~root/.config/guix/current.

Then, in root’s shell session, you need to do:

  export PATH=$HOME/.config/guix/current/bin:$PATH
  hash guix

at which point the ‘guix’ command is the latest one, which ‘guix
describe’ should confirm.

Can you check that this is the case?
