On my machine I have the =E2=80=9Cgot pause=E2=80=9D messages, but these ar=
e the last
messages and then everything works.

Does /var/log/messages show anything regarding elogind?  It could be
that the real problem lies with elogind, although that bit has been
reliable in my experience.
