Subject: bug#43720: Reconfiguring does not create home directories

Message-ID: <874kn0g4ti.fsf@gnu.org> (raw)

Hi,

Andreas Enge <andreas@enge.fr> skribis:

I can confirm it with 7607ace5091aea0157ba5c8a508129cc5fc4f931:
‘user-homes’ is not restarted. If we look at the
‘upgrade-shepherd-services.scm’ file generated for the system, it reads:

--8<---------------cut here---------------start------------->8---
(begin
  (use-modules
   (gnu services herd)
   (srfi srfi-1))
  (parameterize
      ((shepherd-message-port
	(%make-void-port "w")))
    (load-services/safe
     (quote
      ("/gnu/store/cl33si9nbny96p2chf3swcl1l6pbxdr3-shepherd-file-systems.scm" …))))
  (for-each unload-service
	    (quote
	     ()))
  (for-each start-service
	    (quote
	     ())))
--8<---------------cut here---------------end--------------->8---

I believe cda046b3eaeb60f756fa4964c4b2721a2d680192 fixes it.
The bug was probably there since commit
5c793753b31b1dcd9a554bce953124f7ae88ca9a (July 2019).

Thanks!

Ludo’.
