I have run 'fc-cache -rfv' and now at least the following happened:

* libreoffice has visible text again
* xfce4-terminal can select every installed font (but does not display every preview of it correct)
* icecat is unchanged

I'm waiting for the profile software update and will look into more effects tomorrow.
