If this is a duplicate bug, close it.
Currently SLIM (and SDDM) do neither respect nor offer an option to
select a keyboard layout other than "en_US".
**
Expected fix is that display managers (SDDM, SLIM, future ones) can be
configured to let users choose the language/keyboard layout of their choice.

And for SLIM we need to address a change in
file "/etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/10-evdev.conf" depending on the chosen
language. This would however be focused on a one user system where
everyone uses the same layout.

What I mean is https://github.com/sddm/sddm/issues/482
and not https://github.com/sddm/sddm/issues/202 (however it is related).

It’s been a while :-), but this is fixed by
598757e038ab5dea3b59c9c248a2ad860c41fe62, which lets you choose the Xorg
keyboard layout (this was already possible before actually, but a bit
more involved.)
Thanks,
Ludo’.
