release notes:

Another toe in the 2.0.6 w/ ‘GUILE_AUTO_COMPILE=0’ waters!

  Unfortunately, "make check DEBUG=1 GUILE_WARN_DEPRECATED=detailed"
  yields the ironic:

`(debug-enable 'debug)' is obsolete and has no effect.
    Remove it from your code.

and then proceeds to fail (effectively) in boot-9.scm somehow. :-/
  I'll send a separate message to bug-guile w/ details.

Anyway, once we get that situation fully unweirded, perhaps it
will be time to submit Guile-SDL for consideration as a GNU project.

README excerpt:

This directory contains Guile-SDL, a set of modules that provide
bindings for SDL (Simple DirectMedia Layer) to enable Guile
programmers to do all the nice things you can do with SDL.

Most of the SDL functions have been wrapped with the exception of a
few functions that were too C-centric. The SDL Threads and the Audio
functions haven't been included because of the problems with Guile
code being run from more than one thread. However audio programming
can be done with the module ‘(sdl mixer)’ that requires the SDL_mixer
  library.

Also included is SDL_gfx 2.0.22 (by Andreas Schiffler) and bindings
  for it.

NEWS excerpt:

  - 0.4.1 | 2012-11-15

    - distribution now .tar.xz

If you have GNU tar, you can use "tar xf" and it will DTRT.
If not, you can use "xz -dc TARBALL | tar xf -" to unpack.

    - integer arg no longer accepted for ‘grab-input’

        This was pre-announced in Guile-SDL 0.4.0 (2011-12-15) NEWS.

    - bugfix: ‘font:glyph-metrics’ Scheme char to C char conversion

The bug, introduced 2003-11-09, manifested as a mysterious
(expecting integer) wrong-type-arg error. Now fixed, with test.
(The test is pretty lame, admittedly.)

    - improved portability

        Tested w/ Guile 2.0.6, 1.8.7, 1.4.1.127. Apparently 2.0.6
sneers at ‘apply-to-args’; wave goodbye to another old friend.

    - bootstrap tools upgrade
      - GNU Autoconf 2.69
      - GNU Automake 1.12.4
      - Guile-BAUX 20121026.1208.c21074a
      - SNUGGLE 0.1
