Hello dears Guilers,

Devuan is the Debian fork that will ship with no hard dependency on
systemd. [0]  As the infrastructure and the leadership are different
from Debian, maintenance tasks and contact with upstream are a bit
different as well.

In order to promote the use of Guile for extending packages, Devuan will
ship with Guile by default.  The current plan is to provide 2.0.6, the
version already packaged for Debian, but if someone from the Guile
community would step up and maintain the Guile package(s) for Devuan, we
could have 2.0.11 straight from the upcoming 1.0 release.

Package maintenance in Devuan is a bit different from Debian, quite
simpler, and closer to upstream, thanks to the devuan-sdk. [1]

If you'd like to step up and become the package maintainer for Guile in
Devuan, both communities would benefit from it and it's likely a light
job for someone who knows Guile internals.  Please /join #devuan on
Freenode if you're interested in taking or helping with the task.

Debian does not have 2.0.6.  Debian stable (wheezy) has 2.0.5, and
testing (jessie) has 2.0.11.  See http://packages.debian.org/guile-2.0

How about just using the guile-2.0.11 package from jessie or sid?

version.  It still doesn't change the need for a package maintainer.
