WDYT? I went to build a fresh Guile on a machine at work and realized that this approach is quite slow, because it runs before the rest of Guile is compiled. It's much better code, but I think in order to snarf docs in Scheme we need to do so *after* module/ has been compiled. Do you want to submit a patch to do that?
