Could you publish your changes through savannah as well?  This makes 
checking the patch a lot easier.  For example, you could push into 
a dev/ludo branch.

Like where?  I could attach it to a bug report but there's none, which
is reasonable since it affects the development branch.

I usually find it convenient to grab the attachment and apply it with
`patch'.
