Hello Guilers!
For those of you who haven’t seen it yet, there were three Guile-related
talks at the GNU Hackers Meeting in Paris, in August:
- The User in the Loop (Andy Wingo)
- Emacs Lisp, Guile, JavaScript, A Hard Limit, and an Ethical Argument
(Jim Blandy)
- Guile-Emacs (BT Templeton)
See <http://www.gnu.org/ghm/2011/paris/>.
Andy’s talk video is available, but BT’s talk wasn’t video-recorded.
Jim Blandy, former Guile and Emacs maintainer (among others), gave his
hindsight on extensibility in GNU. This led to a controversial, but
enlightening debate. Unfortunately the video of his talk is not
available; the Q&A session videos are available, but they obviously lack
the important points he was trying to make.
Ludo’.
