Are the guile maintainers going to implement the recently ratified
R6RS? Or are just some parts provided eclectically,
as a few other Scheme implementors are going to,
such as SCM, Chicken, Gambit, MIT-Scheme ?

I have an implementation of R5.92RS bytevectors and related binary I/O
procedures [0], which I'm going to "upgrade" to R6RS. I'm inclined to
eventually include it in Guile HEAD, if others agree.

I'm not aware of anyone planning to work on other parts of R6RS, though.
I think having R6RS modules would be nice, but there's some work to do
before we can consider working on it.

Thanks,
Ludovic.

How about an implementation of the R6RS since it has been released?
(see http://www.r6rs.org) I am going to learn it for participate to the
development. Almost 6 months before I implemented a simple implementation
of some basic parts of R5RS and I just enjoyed it.

Thanks,
kebing

Well, anyone is free to participate, so I guess your contribution would
be welcome! :-)

But again, some ground work is required before some parts of R6RS can be
implemented (modules with phase separation, Unicode, etc.).

Thanks,
Ludovic.
