Would anyone offer to be the backup mentor for a Summer of Code
project that I am mentoring, to enhance guile-debugging?
The project application is from Martin Kuehl, from the University of
Bremen, and it proposes to implement "continuation bookmarking" - a
way of saving bookmarks within a debugging session that you can
explore from and then come back to.
The skill that you would need to be the backup mentor for this project
is just a reasonable knowledge of how Guile (core) works. You don't
need to know about guile-debugging in particular, because I can easily
explain its key points in 10-15 minutes on the phone.
Also please note that I would not expect Martin to have to call on you
much in practice, as I am expecting to be available for almost the
whole summer. (Currently I have planned just one week away, at the
start of July.) Thus the backup mentorship in this case could be 90%
nominal. On the other hand, if you did want to be involved more
(regardless of when I am available), that would be welcome.
Many thanks,
Neil
