In guile-1.6.4, built on Linux/x86, this crashes:

$ guile
guile> (class-of 1.2)
Segmentation fault

This is a bug i reported long ago ;-)
Class-of segfaults _unless_ '(oop goops)' is
loaded ...

| ralf@hobbes:/usr/local/src$ guile
| guile> (class-of 12)
| Segmentation fault
| ralf@hobbes:/usr/local/src$ guile
| guile> (use-modules (oop goops))
| guile> (class-of 12)
| #<<class> <integer> 1004d1a0>
| guile> (class-of 1.2)
| #<<class> <real> 1004d1d0>
| guile>

Right, should be fixed now:

2005-01-17  Marius Vollmer  <marius.vollmer@uni-dortmund.de>

	* objects.h, objects.c (scm_classes_initialized): New.
	(scm_class_of): Signal error when scm_classes_initialized is zero.
	* goops.c (create_standard_classes): Set scm_classes_initialized
	to one.
