This threw me two days ago (last time I was doing anything :), when I
was trying to set the default random seed myself.
You say:
@var{*random-state*}
However, var is intended for *metasyntactic* variables, not code
variables, for which I believe you should use @code. This threw me
because I was reading it in Info, for which makeinfo upcases
metasyntactic variables; i.e., *RANDOM-STATE*. Blecch.
