guile source will not compile...

guile source will not compile...

[bstep]

After a few attempts, I can't seem to get the guile
source code to compile on 
my workstation.  I am currently utilizing Slackware 8.1
distro with 2.4.18 
kernel.  Are there some dependencies that I am unaware
of.  BTW, when I run 
./config everything seems ok.  It is duing the make
install process that I 
get the following error:

	/usr/include/arpa/inet.h:74: previous declaration of
'inet_aton'
	make[1]: *** [net_db.lo] Error 1
	make[1]: Leaving directory
'home/doctrit/temp/guile-1.3.4/libguile'
	make: *** [all-recursive] Error 1

Any insight?

That's a very old version of guile; the bug had been fixed in newer
versions.  Try 1.6.1.
