Fame is the perfume of heroic deeds.
The game is my life. It demands loyalty and responsibility, and it gives me back fulfillment and peace.
Wisely, and slow. They stumble that run fast.
Give little love to a child, and you get a great deal back.
It is common sense to take a method and try it. If it fails, admit it frankly and try another, but above all try something.
Just do what you do best.
The reason why so little is done, is generally because so little is 
 attempted.
It's always the challenge of the future, this feeling of excitement, that drives me.
I do not give money for just mere hopes.
Freedom is an internal achievement rather than an external adjustment.
Every man's ability may be strengthened or increased by culture.
There is no such thing as a moral book or an immoral book. Books are well written or badly written. That is all.
We are the children of our own deeds.
Marriage isn't a process of prolonging the life of love, but of mummifying the corpse.
Man is a two-legged animal without feathers.
Scarcely any political question arises in the United States that is 
 not resolved, sooner or later, into a judicial question.
