IDL wave in Emacs 2.4

Hello,

I installed IDLwave 4.1 with the instruction.
However, I could not see IDLWAVE in Emacs 2.4.
How can I do?

What exactly have you installed, and how?
What do you expect to find?

I ask because I have idlwave version 6.1.22 as
a built-in major mode in my Emacs, which is

    GNU Emacs 24.4.1
    (arm-unknown-linux-gnueabihf, GTK+ Version
    3.14.5) of 2015-03-10 on bm-wb-01, modified
    by Debian

(You can output this with
C-u M-x emacs-version RET )

As for idlwave, try:

    C-h f idlwave TAB TAB

Isn't it there already?

idlwave.el is in the lisp/progmodes/ sub-directory of the Emacs
installation directory.  Try "M-x idlwave-mode RET".
