Subject: bug#13217: 24.3.50; emacs-version output not showing up
Date: Mon, 17 Dec 2012 22:55:37 -0100	[thread overview]
Message-ID: <xl5y5gwgrnq.fsf@aol.com> (raw)

Hi,

I'm having a problem with seeing the output of `emacs-version' that
I need help with tracking down.

With the pretest version of Gnu Emacs:

In GNU Emacs 24.2.91.1 (i386-mingw-nt6.1.7601)
 of 2012-12-15 on MS-W7-DANI
Bzr revision: 111040 cyd@gnu.org-20121215141602-c4qmr11gc39rrpng
Windowing system distributor `Microsoft Corp.', version 6.1.7601

I can see the value of `M-x emacs-version' both in the echo-area and
in the *Messages* buffer.

This is both with my full setup and with `runemacs.exe -Q'

However with the latest trunk version (bzr 111253) I can only see
the `emacs-version' value with `runemacs.exe -Q'

With my identical full setup I don't see the `emacs-version' in the
echo-area nor in the *Messages* buffer with trunk version.

The pretest command is:

     C:\emacs-24.2.91\bin\runemacs.exe

The trunk command is:

     C:\emacs-24.3.50\bin\runemacs.exe

Both commands are run from the CMD.EXE prompt with NO changes to my
environment, i.e. identical user configuration files.

How can I debug this?

Thanks.
