What I've pushed now (67c5369156) should be doing what we want in this respect. On my system the eln are now installed in: /usr/local/lib/emacs/native-lisp/28.0.50-x86_64-pc-linux-gnu-679caf986.../ ELN_DESTDIR is computed as "$(DESTDIR)${libdir}/emacs/" in the Makefile. Please give it a try to see if we are happy with that. Thanks Andrea
