Subject: process output has become a bit random...

Hi,
I have the problem that recently AUCTeX started producing spurious
repetitions of output on the console. There does not seem to be a
fixed size to the repeated areas: they can be something like 540, 970,
random numbers like that, probably pretty much a single read's worth.
It is not for long that I have been having those problems. I can't
seem to be able to reproduce it in shell mode easily, however. It may
have something to do with the coding system (which the AUCTeX buffer
inherits from the source file, so it would typically be something like
latin1-unix).
Has anybody else experienced anything weird in connection with process
output recently?
