[BBDB] Entry decay?

Is it possible to have BBDB to automatically remove some people from
the database after some time after the last email to/from that person?

The reason I ask is that I sometimes have a prolonged dialgoe with
someone. I would then like to add them to my BBDB but as soon as that
correspondence is over, I will with 99 % certainty never again talk to
that person and I don't want to manually remove them from my BBDB -
mostly becourse I sit in front of an computer and this is an automated
task, which computers are designed for. And I'm lazy. ;-)

Are there any nice ways of solving this?

I was going to write something witty about laziness being a good
thing, but I decided to just point you to bbdb expire (first hit on
Google: bbdb expire) at http://www.esperi.demon.co.uk/nix/, which
seems to do what you want.

Great! I did use Google to try to find something but failed horribly...

I haven't tested it yet and it will take some time before I do, but
considering that the README file says that Nix does not know if it
works on GNU Emacs, I would like to know if anyone knows if there are
some "issues" with GNU Emacs?

Works ok and the latest version of bbdb has this functionality 'out of the box'

Do you mean 2.35 or 2.34? 2.34 is the latest released version and the
one I use and it lacks this functionality, 2.35 is the development
version.

Sorry I got that garbled in my memory!  I have bbdb 2.34 - before that
version to use bbdb-expire you had to patch bbdb, this is no longer so.
So bbdb-expire works with bbdb 'out of the box' rather than what I said!

I made a change to the way it works, i don't like the idea of adding a
"permanent" field to all entries, it is mor common to have permanent
entries then expirable ones in my BBDB so I wrote the following code,
which is tested once (and worked):
