A release candidate for version 24.4 of Emacs, the extensible text editor,
is available at
ftp://alpha.gnu.org/gnu/emacs/pretest/emacs-24.4-rc1.tar.xz
This version describes itself as Emacs 24.4, but it is not (yet) the
24.4 release. If nothing major comes up, it will be released in a few days.
As always, if you encounter problems building or using Emacs,
please send a report to bug-gnu-emacs@gnu.org with full details
(if possible, use M-x report-emacs-bug).

From now till after the release is made (and tagged), please do not
commit ANYTHING to the emacs-24 branch without asking here first.
(Any change requires the creation of a new release tarfile; so only
bother asking for something really major.)
