If you are talking about the accessibility support for the custom view that is used for Emacs frame contents, its experimental implementation is halfway done (but not at the level that is usable for VoiceOver). You can find some functions names containing "_ax_" in src/macterm.c even in Emacs 22.3, and they are so named because they are intended to use as part of accessibility implementation. Its implementation is currently suspended because I've put stress on completing Emacs 23 features that are available in other platforms. But at least it has been on my todo list. BTW, "Start speaking text" is removed from the Services menu in Mac OS X 10.6? It has been available on previous versions and that can be used in both Emacs 22 Carbon(+AppKit) port and Emacs 23 Mac port. YAMAMOTO Mitsuharu mituharu@math.s.chiba-u.ac.jp
