Makefile (dvips) machinery of etc/

Hi the list !

The dvips manual says the following :
  3.1 Basic usage of Dvips
  ========================

  To use Dvips at its simplest, simply type
       dvips foo
    where `foo.dvi' is the output of TeX that you want to print.  If
  Dvips has been installed correctly, the document will probably roll out
  of your default printer.

Well, problem is, my dvips is installed « correctly », so the document
is printed.

Maybe the following is needed :

As these make targets are only for convenience for the developers (not
used during the build: the *.ps files are included in CVS and the
tar-ball), I don't see any problem to install it in EMACS_22_BASE.
(At least that was the situation when I added the targets on
2006-06-28.)

Yes, but note the "probably". One can have a "correct" dvips
installation without this silly (IMO) default.

Anyway, carping aside, I think you should definitely install your
patch on branch and trunk.
