Hi, can anyone tell me if it is possible to change the emacs splash screen?
I would like it to display a list of useful keybindings that I am learning.
Thanks.

Of course, it's possible! This is Emacs, remember?

See the option fancy-splash-image (if you want to show a different
image) and the variable fancy-splash-text (defined on startup.el).

Did a bit more searching and found the "fancy splash screen" customization group. However, it doesn't seem to work. I set fancy-splash-image to a text file, but now it jumps straight to the scratch buffer, even after changing fancy-splash-image back to default. I tried setting it to an xpm image file, but that didn't work either. I can customize the scratch buffer with initial-scratch-message, but would prefer to have my messages on the splash.

Isn't it fancy-startup-text?
