Your bug report will be posted to the emacs-pretest-bug@gnu.org mailing list. Please describe exactly what actions triggered the bug and the precise symptoms of the bug: On MS-Windows: emacs -Q M-! "C:/Progra TAB This correctly completes to `"c:/Program Files/'. However, the next TAB fails with `[No completions of Files/]', which is an evidence that `read-shell-command' does not pay attention to the fact that the command begins with a quote character. If I type the closing quote character manually, then "C:/Program Files/" TAB pops up a *Completions* buffer with files in my home directory (???), which is again incorrect. When I try similar things on GNU/Linux, completion works correctly, quoting whitespace with a backslash. If Emacs crashed, and you have the Emacs process in the gdb debugger, please include the output from the following gdb commands: `bt full' and `xbacktrace'. If you would like to further debug the crash, please read the file d:/gnu/emacs/etc/DEBUG for instructions.
