In the info page
(emacs)Special Diary Entries
this example is given
&%%(diary-float 11 4 -1) American Thanksgiving
But, alas, it fails this year (2007) as this evaluates to November 29:
November has 5 Thursdays. The version should be
&%%(diary-float 11 4 4) American Thanksgiving
Happy Thanksgiving
