The actual changes committed, however, include things beyond those
described in the change log.  For example, the command to not pass
SIGINT down to the debuggee and the command that sets the geometry
were commented out.  Was that on purpose, and if so, why?

Sorry, that was a mistake.  I have reverted the spurious changes now.

I am not sure that commenting out the geometry settings in .gdbinit
was a mistake.  Why should it insist on -geometry 80x40+0+0?  I have
commented out it in my local copy of .gdbinit too for a long time.
