Hallo,
I have upgraded my emacs to Emacs 22.1.1 (i386-mingw-nt5.1.2600)
of 2007-06-02 on RELEASE.
I believe that the function "delete-process" now is undefined.
Therefore, emacs crashes whenever this function is called.
(For instance, when ispell is terminated by "Q".)

Thank you for the report, but I cannot reproduce this. delete-process is
a built in function, so there is no way it cannot be defined, and an
undefined function would not lead to a crash.
Can you reproduce the problem if you start Emacs from the command-line
as "emacs -Q"?

What does C-h f RET delete-process RET give on your system?

How does "emacs crash"? Please be more specific here.

Do you mean when you type `q' to "quit spelling session (Kills ispell
process)"?

Subject: ispell
--text follows this line--
I invoke Emacs or, from a command line, emacs -Q. Then I load some
file text.tex and run ispell. Now, when I want to terminate ispell
before it has proved the whole text, I type the letter q.
The system then asks
Really kill ispell process? (y or n)
I type 'y' and now emacs hangs. I cannot terminate the program
by C-g, even when I type this repeatedly. I can terminate emacs only
with the Windows task manager.
I found that emacs hangs when the function ispell-kill-ispell
(in ispell.el) is called and when the command (delete-process
ispell-process)
within this function is called.
I have installed Ispell 3.1.20
If Emacs crashed, and you have the Emacs process in the gdb debugger,
please include the output from the following gdb commands:
`bt full' and `xbacktrace'.
If you would like to further debug the crash, please read the file
d:/Programme/emacs/etc/DEBUG for instructions.

Thank you for a detailed recipe. Unfortunately, like Jason, I cannot
reproduce this on my machine: when I type `q' and answer `y' to the
above question, Emacs says that Ispell was killed and does not hang.

Where did you get this port of Ispell? Can you please post everything
that this Ispell displays when you type "ispell -vv" at the Windows
command shell prompt?

This seems to be a Cygwin port of Ispell. Cygwin ports are subtly
incompatible with native Windows executables such as the Windows port
of Emacs. I suggest to install a different port of Ispell, e.g. from
this site:

I'm glad I was able to help you.
Thanks for working on this.
